Yea, I know, I know...more dead time between posts. Well, things have been a little busy here at the Cameron house. First off, since
Kenzie's last birthday post, we have done a couple of things, and one of those was to go to Myrtle Beach, SC. It was a short family vacation to a condo resort that had it's own water park in the front, a nice swimming pool out back and then the ocean right beyond that...We call it the
tri-
fecta of free beach entertainment...well, as free as free is while paying for your hotel bill...The waster park was great, and just big enough to provide hours of entertainment for the girls and some relaxation for us parents...No, it's not the super large rides and such of Wet 'N Wild, but it was designed for kids and they all had a great time.
The pool was fun and the kids loved the ocean. We took their life jackets with them because I learned a long time ago, it's not
sissyish to use them, they actually let you have fun with out
worrying about staying afloat!!! This came in handy with the waves crashing in and on us.
We didn't do hardly anything but the water stuff, which was fine for us. We did find the
Krispy Kreme donut store at midnight. That's a ritual I don't think we will ever outgrow...besides, that's when the "Hot Donuts" sign goes on and that's when they are their best. And we eat the leftovers (if there are any) for breakfast. The girls just love the hot donuts and some chocolate milk at midnight. I know, so much sugar so late at night!!! Hey, it's a vacation and they deserve it, along w/ us!!!!
On the way out of town, we stopped at Broadway at the Beach at
http://www.clublibbylu.com/ to make over of the girls.
Kenzie and Angie had heard about this joint, so we let the girls get all gussied up!! From the pictures, it looks like they had a great time!
So, when the family vacation, it was time for the big change in all of our lives....I had to deploy to Turkey with my Air Force Reserve unit for a tad over a month long. Now, I know this isn't as long as some do, but, for my family so far, it's the longest I have been gone for a single time. It was hard leaving them for that long, but I knew that we had a great network of both family and friends that would help Angie out with the kids. And that's exactly what happened. So thanks to all who helped with my family and all of the prayers for me and everyone else who is deployed. Anyway, Turkey was hot when we first got there...I mean highs for two weeks were anywhere from 110-120 degrees!!! That's hot, but luckily I ended up working nights..to where it got down to about 85 or so at night. That's sitll hot w/ the humidity at night..just plain sticky!!!!!! So, Turkey was Turkey...I don't think I left anything over there to go back and find, I'll tell you that right now... So, it is good to be back home and I am almost getting back in the swing of things, so hopefully I'll have more to add more frequently...Later ya'll...
